As a professional provider of WGs (shared apartments), we manage a variety of residential units. This involves a great number of tenants, of whom we receive monthly rental payments. If tenants forget to pay the rent or are not able to do so or do not want to settle it, we lose cash or liquidity. In order to protect us from loss of receivables, we transfer overdue receivables to Allianz-Versicherungs AG and receive the corresponding cash amount.
Before Allianz-Versicherungs AG can insure us against the loss of rent receivables, it must store your data, in particular your name and e-mail address, as well as obtain a credit report (SCHUFA information) about you. This is what the MAV Servicegesellschaft mbH (firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com) informs you about in the e-mail it has sent you.
What does that mean for you?
- Allianz-Versicherungs AG collects a credit report about you. However, the result (whether positive or negative) has no effect on the insurance of your rental and much more importantly: it does not affect your tenancy.
- For you the introduction of the rental insurance does not change anything. You are still our tenant with all rights and obligations. As long as you pay your rent on time, you will have nothing to do with Allianz-Versicherungs AG nor with its partner, the debeo GmbH.
- The storage of your data by Allianz-Versicherungs AG or its partners takes place exclusively within the scope of their business activities and is treated confidentially. That means that the handling of your data remains subject to the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).
- You are not required to execute anything. The e-mail from MAV Servicegesellschaft mbH is purely informative, meaning you do not have to answer nor are you required to obtain SCHUFA-information yourself.
